Two open Prescott weights lead to BW dual win
With two open weights, the Prescott Cardinals wrestling team walked into their Thursday, Jan. 11 dual against Baldwin-Woodville with a 12-point disadvantage.
Prescott and BW split the 12 matches that weren't forfeited, but BW finished on top and gave the Cardinals their fifth Middle Border Conference dual loss that came down to a final score of 44-28.
BW now has a conference dual record of 4-1 with their only loss coming from the 3-0 Ellsworth Panthers.
Three of the six matches the Cardinals claimed were pins, which came from Ethan Luksich, Joe Schulte and Ty Sanford.
Prescott's wrestlers will see more mat time on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Ladysmith Invitational, which starts at 9 a.m., and they continue their MBC competition on Thursday, Jan. 18 at Saint Croix Central.

Spring Valley/Elmwood and Ellsworth
SVE and Ellsworth's duals originally scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 11 were postponed due to inclement weather.
SVE's dual against Glenwood City was rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 2, and Ellsworth's dual at New Richmond has been moved to Tuesday, Jan. 30.
On Saturday, Jan. 13, the Cardinals head to the Chippewa Falls Invitational while the Panthers will cross the border to compete at the Kiffmeyer Duals in Minnesota where they'll face Sauk Rapids-Rice, Foley and Hastings.
