Cattle on the loose in Pierce County • Deputies responded to a report of a pig on the roadway on Highway 10 by Prescott on April 23. The pig was located and put back in its pen. • Deputies reported to 650th Street/State Highway 29 near River Falls for a report of cows on the roadway on April 23. When officers got there the cows were back in fence, but police did notify property owner that it was reported that cows had been out.
The 2018 Pierce County Fair is Aug. 9-12. Entry day for all non-animal exhibits is Aug. 8 with judging beginning Aug. 9. So whether you bake, sew, build, grow or train, entering an exhibit at a county fair is an exciting process.

A woman reported what she thought might be a possible attempted abduction in Spring Valley Friday, April 27 after a man approached her and her three children. The woman, who was on a walk with her children near Newman Avenue and Central Street near the Spring Valley Emergency Services Building, said a man later identified as Stephen W. Gullixson, 65, Baldwin, approached them in a vehicle and offered her money as part of God’s work. She said he also allegedly asked to take a picture of the children.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to close the westbound I-94 off-ramp to WIS 35 south starting Monday, April 23 morning at 7 a.m. through Wednesday, April 25 at 5 a.m. The closure is required to remove and replace deteriorated concrete pavement on the ramp. A decade later, the Stockholm Pie Company has quadrupled in size, garnered national recognition, and launched a brand new general store. The Stockholm Pie Company will celebrate its 10th anniversary and the official grand opening of the new, adjacent "General Store at Stockholm Pie" from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 5.
